Don't you just have to wonder sometimes...

Don't you just have to wonder what a song is doing in your head for no apparent reason?
I had a barrage of them this morning! Enough to drag me out of bed to reach for a flashlight, pen and pad (useful for dreams, reminders, solutions to problems that come to you in your sleep, sudden insights)
‘Don't stop believin’ was followed by ‘Lean on Me’. Right on top of those songs was ‘Up on the Roof’.
Someone was drumming messages into my head via those songs. (I’m not much of a music fan compared to most…so this was not random)
Each one had a message for me…perhaps a global one.
This current raging storm of controversy, with its harsh words and amplified emotions, can be wearying. It’s like waiting for a storm to pass. This one seems to be stationing and gathering force.
The message seemed to be ‘Hang in there…stay hopeful…take shelter.’
I know there are people viewing from a higher perspective...looking at what is going on…observing what is happening…cause and effects…without interpretation. With humans, there are few tidy solutions…
I’ve had a rare, fleeting glimpse that showed me that people, groups and nations are living in their own perfect medicine…and that there is little for us to do. That’s a tough one to convey…
We are, at the moment, functioning at the far end of the spectrum, thinking that we have to be involved in everybody’s business and force their opinions at all times.
I think the way it might be supposed to work is for us to tend to our own stuff first and stop meddling till we have a little more wisdom and experience.
I liken it ro ‘cleaning the neighbor’s garage’. As kiddos, we got all excited about cleaning the neighbor’s garage, but when it came to cleaning our own, an awful cry went up!! Why? A garage is a garage, right? Apparently not… (that story will follow)
The last time I checked, God likes variety. Nature is teaching us that all the time. There's purpose in it, not to mention beauty and discovery and balance. We don’t all have to march in lockstep…nor should we.
What's this nonsense about everybody poking freely into everybody’s private lives?!
(most of this is really none of your business, I promise you)
…and attacking those who don't agree with your particular viewpoints? Dissecting every nuance and gesture and then pompously passing judgment.
I just want to shake some of these people and say ‘Who are you and what do you contribute to life that makes you think that you and your opinions are so important? You scream about wanting your privacy, but you deny it to others…thinking that it’s somehow your right and mission in life to go around skewering people.’
This has been brewing for a while, call it what you will, but not only do we have too many cooks in the kitchen, we have too many pot stirrers at work…selah
That's all I have to say...
A bit of wisdom from others…
Turkey: Let it be peace
Thailand: Mai pen rai (it doesn’t matter)
Africa: a wise man fills his brain before emptying his mouth
Ireland: Never scald your lips with another man's porridge

Trust only the one who is able to see these 3 things in you: sadness behind a smile, love behind your anger and the purpose for your silence.

and then came one more song… (what comes of asking for guidance…)
As if someone was reading my mind, as I started moving around, and just as I was thinking of making a nicer, kinder exit from one of the stacks (which would be my way…not always a wise choice btw)
BOOM!! This song blasted immediately into my mind.
‘These boots were made for walking!!’…effectively cutting me off at the pass and keeping me on the right track
