random thoughts now that the static is subsiding a bit

I couldn't help but notice who jumped in and how vociferously they jumped in within minutes of Charlie Kirk’s shooting.

“Enthusiasm is akin to madness” came to mind.

As early and wild speculations, accusations and conspiracies fell by the wayside, no one seemed to notice the egg on their faces by the following day.

Open mouth… Insert opinion.

It was…and remains…a battle of the soap-boxes for many.

The memorial was its own strange and aberrant affair.

What strikes me quite strongly about this is people reverting to their default personas.

Everyone had a catechism handed to them at the outset of their churchianity. It was drilled into them until they could recite it properly on demand.

That's what Charlie gave them. He doesn't really know of what he speaks. He's just certain it's true.

Along with the catechism was the act that went with it. The act that says this is incontrovertibly true. The Attitude.

I had it once- very sorry to say…decades ago. I'm still seeing people who claim to have moved on from all that foolishness, revert to it automatically when pressed.

Never examined. Never true.

It was like being handed a club to hit people over the head with.

It is part of the trance that comes with the modern church. It's really just about power and supremacy…damn the details.

Throughout the service, people that had no business claiming to be believers were suddenly all in Charlie's camp. The catechism…the trance. The sordid act.

His widow in the midst of grief, was able to perform perfectly by defaulting to the false persona.

Once activated, they are suddenly locked-on like a target. It is an alternate. It is ultimately useless. It is a trance.

It gets a lot of people through life in lieu of something real. It even makes many of them better people than they would have been without it. Our young people are often rudderless, having been raised by the parents and grandparents of the 60s and 70s, many of whom were totally self-consumed and anti religious themselves. We are reaping that whirlwind now.

Some wisdom is to be found in the Bible, despite the fact that it has been maliciously deformed.

Personally I'll take wisdom wherever I find it… What works, works.

And what is misused in regard to naive believers, is damnable.

What concerns me the most is the mass trance formation that is activating again.

We have been addicted to trance states via dumbing down, endless scrolling, TV, music, movies and entertainment, along with the garbage food we consume with it’s addictive chemicals, as well as the meds.

Church music in particular is designed to put worshippers in several different trance states throughout the service. They are willing participants I'm afraid, with few outliers.

Blessed are the outliers…

I'm inclined to think that the rest of them get what they deserve…and that may be the only way they’ll learn.

To this I suggest:

Not my circus…Not my monkeys.

Just know what monkeys are capable of…
